Welcome to ScholarKey VPN (Chinese name: 知匙加速器). These Terms of Use (these "Terms") are an agreement between you and Xuzhou Youfang Network Technology Co., Ltd. ("we" or "us") governing your use of the ScholarKey app, its official website and related services (collectively, the "Service").
Please read these Terms carefully, especially the clauses shown in bold, which concern exclusions or limitations of liability, governing law and dispute resolution. By tapping "Agree and Continue", registering, signing in or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. What these Terms include
These Terms consist of this document together with the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. The Terms of Service set out the specific rules for academic resource access and membership services, and the Privacy Policy explains how we process your personal information. Both have the same effect as these Terms.
2. Accounts
2.1 Guest identity
You can use the Service without registering. When you open the app for the first time, we automatically create a guest identity for your device, and you can browse the Library and buy and use a membership as a guest. A guest identity is tied to the current device. If you replace or reset your device, the membership and data under your guest identity may not be recoverable, so we recommend that you register an account.
2.2 Registration and sign-in
You can register an account with your email address or with "Sign in with Apple". You must use an email address or Apple Account that you lawfully own, and keep your password and verification codes safe. When you sign in, the membership and data of the guest identity on the current device are merged into your account.
2.3 Accounts are for your personal use only
Your account is for your personal use only. You may not lend, rent, transfer or sell your account, or share your account or connection credential with others. You are responsible for any loss caused by failing to keep your account safe or by voluntarily giving your account to others. If you find that your account has been used without your permission, change your password immediately and contact us.
2.4 Number of signed-in devices
An account can be signed in on up to 3 devices at the same time. If your account is already signed in on 3 devices and you sign in on a new device, the system automatically signs out the device that has gone unused the longest. You can view and remove devices in "Me → Account & Security → Signed-in Devices".
2.5 Deleting your account
You can delete your account in "Me → Account & Security → Delete Account". The consequences of deletion are described in the Privacy Policy. After deletion, any membership benefits remaining on the account are removed and cannot be restored. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an Apple auto-renewing subscription.
3. Rules of conduct
You must comply with the laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China, as well as public order and good morals. When using the Service, you may not:
- Use the Service to endanger national security, undermine social stability, infringe the lawful rights and interests of others, or engage in any other illegal or criminal activity;
- Use the Service for any purpose other than accessing academic resources, or attempt to bypass or break through the access scope restrictions of the Service;
- Crack, reverse engineer, decompile or modify the app, or extract or tamper with the app's server configuration or connection credentials;
- Register accounts in bulk, or resell or distribute the Service in any form;
- Use automated programs to access, crawl or download content from resource websites in bulk, or engage in any other conduct that violates the terms of use of resource websites;
- Download or distribute content that infringes the copyrights of others;
- Submit illegal, infringing, harassing or irrelevant content through Wish Cards, Feedback or other features;
- Interfere with or attack the servers and network of the Service, or affect other users' normal use of the Service in any way.
If you violate the rules above, we may, depending on the circumstances, issue a warning, restrict features, remove signed-in devices, suspend or terminate the Service, and report the matter to the relevant authorities in accordance with the law. You are liable in accordance with the law for any loss this causes to us or to others.
4. Third-party resource websites
- The websites listed in the Library are operated by third parties. We only provide an access channel and an index. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, legality or availability of these websites, or for any transaction or dispute between you and these websites.
- Some resource websites require a subscription from your institution, a personal account or payment to access full text. The Service does not provide accounts for, or paid content from, these websites.
- Your activity on resource websites is governed by each website's terms of use and privacy policy. Please comply with their copyright and usage rules.
- We will review resources you submit through Wish Cards and decide whether to add them, but we do not guarantee that they will be added.
5. Intellectual property
- The intellectual property rights in the app, the website, and the software, interfaces, text, icons, trademarks and other materials in them belong to us or the relevant rights holders.
- Provided that you comply with these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-commercial, non-transferable and revocable license to install and use the app on Apple devices that you own or control.
- You agree that we may use the content you submit through Wish Cards and Feedback to improve the Service, but we will not make your contact information public.
6. Changes, interruptions and termination of the Service
- To improve the Service, we may adjust features, Library content or servers. We will notify you in advance of changes that materially affect your rights and interests.
- The Service may be temporarily interrupted because of system maintenance, upgrades, server adjustments, network failures or similar causes. We will try to notify you in advance and restore the Service as soon as possible.
- You may stop using the Service at any time. If you seriously violate these Terms, we may stop providing the Service to you.
- If we decide to discontinue the Service, we will notify you at least 30 days in advance and properly handle any unused paid membership benefits in accordance with the law.
7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
- The Service is provided "as is". We will do our best to keep the Service stable, but because of factors such as network conditions, the status of the resource websites themselves and third-party services, we do not guarantee that every resource website will be accessible at all times or on every network, and we do not guarantee access speed.
- We are not liable for Service interruptions or inaccessibility caused by reasons not attributable to us, such as force majeure, network carrier failures, third-party resource websites changing or restricting access, or your device or network environment, but we will do our best to help you resolve them.
- To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect loss arising from your use of the Service, and our total liability for compensation will not exceed the fees you have actually paid for the relevant service. This section does not exclude or limit any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
8. Minors
If you are a minor under the age of 18, please read these Terms together with your parent or guardian, and use the Service and buy a membership only with their consent.

We may send you notices through in-app messages, announcements on our official website or the email address you have provided. A notice is deemed delivered when it is sent.
11. Governing law and dispute resolution

The parties shall first try to resolve any dispute arising from these Terms through friendly negotiation. If negotiation fails, either party may bring a lawsuit before the people's court with jurisdiction at the place of domicile of Xuzhou Youfang Network Technology Co., Ltd..
